Ok! I realize that a lot of people like to keep their hair "virgin" hair and not dye it or try anything with it.... I'm not one of them. Part of me wishes I was that girl who did that. I love my natural hair color but I love change and trying new things out!
Mid January I decided to dye my hair dark brown, and the sample I chose that would be pretty... ended up being DARK! I'mm gonna put things in Disney terms and it might make a little more sense and you will be able to get a better picture! {And when I relate my hair to these ladies.. I mean the color.. my hair will never be as pretty as these ladies}
I started with the {Queen From tangled} hair; I was going for a {elsa's mom} look. At first, I looked in the mirror and wanted to cry! It was so drastic! my auburn locks were gone and after I washed it three times... I looked again and looked like Mother Gothel from tangled!
If you know my family, you know we love to joke with each other.. it's Never in an offensive way, but when something goes wrong my dad loves to call the situation a {Nailed It}. First came the mother gothel jokes when my hair was a hot mess, then came the snow white jokes and Katy Perry jokes. Thankfully people liked my hair, and gave me the nicest compliments. After about three days I realized it fit my personality and it changed my look up! I dig it now and wont change it for a while because It is unique. It turned out after a few washes to be what I wanted it to be and I couldn't be more pleased.
The point is that ITS JUST HAIR!! I wasted my time worrying about how it didn't turn out the way I expected, rather than accepting and loving the way it turned out! I look back at old pictures and can appreciate the many colors I have had. CHANGE IS GOOD!
If you're not into dying your hair.. cut it! try some cut that you've never done before! alternatives to dying:
Brunettes: try a tea bag toner or a new hair mask to change the sheen your hair has
Blondes: If you start to feel brassy try a {Purple shampoo} try any brand you like I make a homemade toner
Red heads: try a lemon rub or tea bags or even a Kool-Aid dye job
>> Another option instead of dying would be to get some extensions a shade darker or lighter than your hair but around the same length it will blend into your hair but add color dimension! Some good brands of extensions are {Bellami} or {Laced Hair} If you wanna change your look completely.. by all means go longer and buy some long locks!
If you are cool with dying:
Brunettes/Black: Try lightening things up by getting some highlights that frame the face or go darker. another option is ombre
Inspirations>> Megan Fox, Angelina Jolie , Lilly Collins , Jennifer Garner, Elizabeth Taylor
Blondes: Go blonder! try a shade you've never tried, Ie: ashy, white blonde, dark blonde, two toned.
Inspirations>> Cara Loren (From caraloren.com), Julianne Hough, Blake Lively , Grace kelly
Red heads: Go darker try a different shade! try auburn or try lighter maybe even an ombre!
inspirations>> Rachel McAdams, Scarlett Johansson, Lucille Ball, Isla Fischer
I hope this helps you a bit and makes you appreciate what you already have or want to be adventurous and change it up!
